Who We Are?
Tahini Factory is the modern extension of Ma’asir Rashid, Egypt’s oldest continuously operating tahini and molasses mill, established in 1890 in the historic city of Rashid.
For more than 135 years, our family has preserved the same traditional production process: cold stone pressing, slow grinding, and uncompromising quality without shortcuts. While the process remains authentic, we continue building a modern manufacturing and supply operation around this legacy.
Built on Rashid
Rashid is one of Egypt’s most historically significant trading cities, located where the Nile meets the Mediterranean Sea. For centuries, it served as a gateway connecting Egypt with international trade routes.
The city is known for:
• The discovery of the Rosetta Stone
• Preserved Ottoman-era architecture
• Fertile Nile-fed agriculture
• A long-standing merchant and manufacturing heritage
These conditions established Rashid as Egypt’s traditional center for sesame and molasses production.
